Age: 13 years to 17 years

Our Youth Programs are designed for youth age 13-17 who are seeking a dance program that balances a solid foundation in dance technique with the opportunity to express themselves creatively through movement and collaborative processes in a safe, welcoming environment.

This combined class is for those dancers who qualify for Pre-Point but also wish to take Contemporary.  This Program is a 2 hours and 15 min each week.  Dancers will begin with 60 min of Pre-point as a technique class and then move into a 75 min Contemporary class with the same teacher and same cohort to reduce the need for additional Covid-19 protocols. Should your dancer wish to take Contemporary only they should register for the Tuesday Youth Contemporary class.

If your child is looking for Ballet Technique only please contact our program director Ms Chantel to discuss sessional classes that might be a good fit.

Pre-Pointe is the next step in your child's ballet training.  This class will focus on improving technique and coordination with attention to detail as well as developing artistry and expression in a safe and fun environment. There will be an emphasis on strengthening footwork. The class will include barre, centre work combinations and across the floor turn and jump progressions. The  dancers will develop a strong base, proper alignment and clean technique. Admission to this class is by teacher recommendation or audition only.

New families joining our program will need to complete the Full-Year Placement Recommendation Form to receive a class placement prior to being able to register. You will be notified via email once your class placement has been added to your account.

At J’Adore Dance we view our Youth dancers as part of our community. As a community, we expect families who enter our Youth programs to be ready to commit to a full year program.
